Storm

Between them, the silence grows louder than the sky. A distant figure stands beneath the looming face of a woman, their presence divided by scale and emotion. Through muted tones and a storm-like atmosphere, the painting lingers in the space between past connection and present isolation.

This study was created from a lesson by Jim Bently through Kara Bullock Art School. The lesson focused on painting a figure with a background using charcoal; however, I worked in oils to achieve a charcoal-like effect and maintain the atmospheric depth.
